A Ministry for Unfortunate Children in Awendo and Ndhiwa, Kenya East Africa
operated by our friends Rev. Peter and Rachel Midodo, who Are Pastors in the western
part of Kenya. In 1998 they began to reach out to the desperate village children.
Poverty is very severe in this part of the world.
They started to bring these children into their home to minister to their
physical and spiritual needs. They currently minister to 160 children and have 8 teachers.
We are praying for God to provide resources to expand this ministry. We believe as a
united body of Christ, we can improve their lives. Among these children are some who
will reach the world with the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. We welcome you to be part
of what God is doing in Kenya.
The site is in a village called Ndhiwa about 20 Kilometers (12.5 US miles) from their
current facility in Awendo. Ndhiwa is the town with the highest child mortality rate
in Kenya. The current HIV infection rate in this area is 50%. It is one of the most
depressed areas of Kenya.
